Golf Net vs. Impact Screen vs. Full Enclosure

What you hit into decides how your setup looks, how safe it is and whether you can project a course. Here's the plain-English breakdown.

Golf net

A net catches the ball, and that's its job. Nets are the cheapest and quickest way to start, and many fold or pack away. You can't project an image onto most nets, so you'll watch your shots on a phone, tablet or TV.

Impact screen

An impact screen is a tightly woven surface designed to take a golf ball and show a projected image. Screens are sold on their own or as part of an enclosure, and come in different materials and finishes.

Enclosure

An enclosure is a frame with an impact screen plus side and top coverage, which helps contain mishits. It's the "simulator bay" look, and it needs more space and more money.
